Those of us who live in Spain know about the cultural, historical and natural heritage of the country. We boast of good judgment when it comes to enjoying life: the summers on the beach and the winters on the ski slopes, the aperitifs on the terraces and the endless nights, the popular activities on the streets and the author’s works. Unquestionably, the indicators of tourism during 2017 reaffirm that the citizens of the world also want to live intensively our Spanish feeling.
During 2017, Spain has received more foreign tourists in all its history by breaking its record of 81.8 million foreign tourists and establishing itself as the second world tourism power. Thus, it has been located very close to France, which is the first world destination, and above the United States, which has traditionally occupied second place in the list of the most visited countries.
Although the variety of tourist attractions in Spain is extensive, in 2017 the Autonomous Community of Catalonia was the most chosen by tourists, accounting for almost a quarter of the total number of visitors. Behind were the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands. In addition, it is important to note that in spite of the Brexit, the British are the ones who visit us the most, followed by the Germans (they are the ones who assume the highest average cost) and the French.
Evidently, during this 2018 in Spain we will continue seducing the most demanding visitors with our memorable tourist routes and our particular way of enjoying life.
